Achieve scenic mastery

Writer: Roberto S. FalquezRoberto S. Falquez

Here's some advice: Artists must differentiate between what depends on us and what doesn't. The quality of the performance depends on our practice, but our fame and reputation do not depend on our performance. This includes external factors because the audience has their unique perspective. If as artists we are more concerned with our reputation than with our performance, that is, external factors absorb our energy, then anxiety, nerves, stage fright appear. When we are singing in front of a teacher, a friend or even alone, everything always turns out better because we use all our energy in what depends on us, when the opinion of others appears, we perform less. Curiously, whoever is less interested in applause and more focused on his art, is the one who receives the most applause.
